I am a landscape photographer that got my start a couple of years ago, as I took pictures of Arizona monsoon sunsets and sunrises while I rode my bicycle around town in an effort to rebuild my health after some issues came up. I was using my 2MP cell phone camera, and frequently had people tell me that they couldn't believe that I was making so many good shots with it. Last Christmas, I bought a Fuji point-and-shoot and a tripod, and have spent the last year educating myself on all things landscape photography. I now shoot with a professional-level Sony DSLR, and just recently upgraded to Photoshop Lightroom 4 editing software.
I typically only shoot landscapes and nature; I am not at all comfortable shooting any people except myself. I think it takes an introvert to be a good landscape photographer, I'm always at my most content when I am all alone somewhere at sunset or at the crack of dawn.
I created this account at the urging of a couple of friends, but mostly due to the most recent one to push me toward it. I chose "hobbyist" as opposed to "professional" simply because I have yet to actually sell any work. I've had more than a few people who I know personally tell me how much they'd like a print or even a calendar of my shots, and then when it comes down, they have never actually followed through with it. My friend told me to give it a shot here, and even though I'm naturally a cynical pessimist, figured I might as well give it a shot. At this point, I've come to the conclusion that I'm doing this for my own enjoyment, and if somebody else wants to get in on it, more power to them; I'm just not going to waste any time or effort expecting it, anymore.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my work, and I appreciate those who add them to their "favorites". Your comments and support mean a lot and never go unnoticed.
